I'm bringing two senior engineers from the Android team with me to present on the architecture, demo the tools, and answer your toughest questions. Also, don't forget to bring your APKs early to the event. We'll be converting them to PlayBook on the spot and then talking about the experience in the presentation. See you on the 16th!

    Hi Lawrence and all!
Is there any chance for me and my partner to present about Bazaar (www.bazaarandroid.com) in the meet up?

In addition Larry and his team from RIM for presenting interesting technical materials, we should thank Lawrence and Nelson when we see them for organizing this meetup. Thanks, Larry and Lawrence!

Excellent presentations from RIM team. Larry, Rajeev and Martin gave very compelling reasons why mobile developers should be targeting App World. Android developers get the bonus that most android apps can be ported with minimum effort. The playbook giveaway to every attendee was a pleasant surprise! Onur gave an update on Skype on Android. Looking forward to hearing more about that in a future meetup event. Keith and Skype team did a great job hosting the event.

This was a great session. I learned a bunch about a company that I had thought only used proprietary RIM software and was on a down hill slide. However they informed me that they are doing well and using Android. Additionally they gave us PLAYBOOKS so that we could develop apps on their tablets!! Awesome!
  • Bob O'Brien
    excellent presentations, amazing parting gifts!
  • Karl Pohl
The skype presentation was a little weak -- nothing really new the blackberry presentation was excellent --- a lot of tips for blackberry apps development - sounds like blackberry is interested on android development could be an earnings opportunity - and a big thanks for the playbook giveaway.
  • Mike Demler
Would have liked to see much more detail from Skype.
  • Shao Xia
The good thing was the free playbook, but the only interesting part of the discussion last night was the architecture one while the others not being very technical.
  • Leo Ochoa
Very informative. Great speakers. RIM developer champion did really great job (except for the "RIM will come after you" sentece, haha). He completely changed my view on RIM.
  • Mike Facio
Thanks to the Android meetup organizers, to Skype and to the Blackberry/RIM team.
  • Guy W McNally
As good as it gets. Great venue, first class organisation (tip of the hat to Lawrence and Nelson!) and quality presentations.
  • Brad Smith
Please put up the presentations from the meetup. I would like to follow up on the internals slide which got skipped over. I would be happy to put together a discussion on "internals" for an up comming meetup.
  • Kaamel Kermaani
Pizza and drinks, enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenters, excellent topics, great venue, and to top it off, free Playbooks for everyone! Just perfect!
  • Tom Vellaringattu
It was great. First time attending one.

Very good, especially since RIM was so generous to give all attendees a Playbook each. RIM also explained well the basics of Android over its new BBX OS.
